Postgraduate Mentorship (MTP Project)

I worked in collaboration with my supervisor and a group of master's students to develop hypotheses, conduct data analysis, interpret the results, and prepare the dissertation report.

• I am currently mentoring Mr. Sachin Gupta, a first-year postgraduate student from IIT Bombay, for his project work. The project involves assessing the safety of children in school zones [2023].

• Currently, I am mentoring Mr. Rishav Kumar, a first-year postgraduate student from IIT Bombay, in his project work. The project focuses on identifying different factors that impact the risk of road crossing for pedestrians with walking disabilities.

• I have provided guidance and mentorship to Mr. Prayana Patel, a final-year postgraduate student from IIT Bombay, in his project work. The project centered around the development of a crash prediction model specifically designed for the Mumbai-Goa Highway [2023].

• I mentored Mr. Mayank Dev Shrivastava, a postgraduate final-year student from IIT Guwahati, for his project work in 2023. The project involved analyzing pedestrians' response time using survival analysis at signalized intersection crosswalks in Kolkata city.

• I provided mentorship to Ms. Shruti Singh, a final-year postgraduate student from IIT Guwahati, for her project work in 2023. The project focused on gaining an understanding of the factors that influence pedestrian safety margins at two-way signalized crosswalks.

• Mentored one of the postgraduate final-year students (Mr. Neerudu Nitesh from IIT Guwahati) for his postgraduate project work, which involved road safety risk analysis at the mid-block section [2021].

• I had the privilege of mentoring Mr. Abhinay Pathak, a postgraduate final-year student from IIT Guwahati, for his project in 2021. The project focused on gaining insights into the factors that influence the safety margin of pedestrians at crosswalks in signalized intersections.

• I had the opportunity to mentor Mr. Mohit Chugh, a postgraduate final-year student from IIT Guwahati, in his project work in 2021. The project aimed to explore and understand the factors that influence pedestrian signal violation behavior by utilizing the survival analysis approach.

• I had the privilege of mentoring Mr. Sajad Maqbool, a postgraduate final-year student from IIT Guwahati, for his project in 2020. The project aimed to explore and comprehend the various factors that impact pedestrian crossing speed and safety margin at signalized intersection crosswalks.

• I provided mentorship to Mr. Dinesh Kumar Saw, a final-year student from Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology Surat, for his postgraduate project work in 2019. The project involved conducting an investigation into the Global status report on road safety.

Undergraduate Mentorship (Summer Interns, BTP Project)

I worked in collaboration with my supervisor and a group of undergraduate students to develop hypotheses, conduct data analysis, interpret the results, and prepare the dissertation report.

• During 2019, I mentored four summer internship students at IIT Guwahati. The students included Mr. Arindam Borah from the National Institute of Technology Silchar, Mr. Parashmani Das from the National Institute of Technology Silchar, Ms. Jhunjhun Bala from Rajkiya Engineering College, Azamghar, and Ms. Ankita Bhattacharjee from the National Institute of Technology Agartala. Together, we focused on evaluating the safety of pedestrians' crossing behavior at signalized intersection crosswalks.

• I had the opportunity to mentor Mr. Trinayan Das, a summer internship student from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, during his time at IIT Guwahati in 2019. Throughout the internship, he conducted an investigation into the parent's role in making mode choices for their children's school transportation.

• In 2019, I mentored Mr. Rajesh Kumar Panda, a summer internship student from the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, during his tenure at IIT Guwahati. Throughout the summer internship, he investigated the Global status report on road safety.

• I mentored Mr. Shivam Srivastava, a summer intern from Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, during his research project at IIT Guwahati in 2018. The project focused on studying and analyzing college students' distracted walking and cycling behavior at three major intersections within the IIT Guwahati campus.

Road Safety Policy Fellowship Program

• As part of the Road Safety Policy Fellowship Program, organized by the Indian Road Safety Campaign and MoRTH (2018), I provided mentorship to the participants. Throughout the program, I offered valuable guidance to help them understand and address transportation issues at the local level.

Data Science Learning and Campus Placement

• I mentored and supported Mr. Ajit Kr Mishra, a final-year postgraduate student from IIT Guwahati, in his journey to learn Data Science and participate in the campus placement drive for 2021-2022. I encouraged and guided him throughout the process. As a result, he successfully secured a position as a Data Analyst at Tiger Analytics.

• I mentored Mr. Mayank Dev Shrivastava, a postgraduate final-year student from IIT Guwahati, for his final-year project. I motivated him to acquire skills in Statistics and Data Science and advised him to participate in the campus placement drive for 2022-2023. I am pleased to share that he secured an offer from Nineleaps as a Data Engineer.
